Yes, returns do lead to better rest, or at least that was my experience. When my wife and I married over twenty years ago, we received a lot of nice gifts at several showers. However, some gifts we received were duplicates (we knew we didn’t need four punch bowls) and we soon realized that other gifts we received would not be used. Now I have noticed friends store such gifts. Some may be stored for most of a person’s life. Some may be eventually broken and thrown away. Some may be used at a later time but that is the minority. I suspect that a lot are eventually sold for a quarter or two at a garage sale. So why not maximize the potential value of these products. If they aren’t going to be used in the near future then return them. Now is the time to get the best price for these products.
After returning our shower gifts we had enough money to buy a new bed. After my wife and I married, I moved in with her in a 840 square foot mobile home and we then shared a full size water bed. This was a bed that had waves rising half a foot when one person moved. So for a light sleeper like myself, sleep was severely lacking. It was so nice to take the money from things we didn’t really want and use it to buy something that would lead to far better rest.
